1. To do board

What you’ll need:

  • Resene testpots
  • Clipboard
  • Item three
  • Washi masking tape
  • Pencil
  • Paintbrush
  • Pegs

To do board- dail and weekly to do items

Instructions:

Upcycle an old clipboard and create a helpful to do chart with some fun Resene paint colours. With a pencil and a ruler, divide the board into four even square sections leaving a strip at the top and through the middle for some title words. Mask off the sections one by one using washi masking tape and paint each section in two coats of your favourite Resene colours. I’ve used Resene Deep Sea, Resene Groovy, Resene Limerick, Resene Centre Stage, Resene Butterfly and Resene Moody Blue. While the clipboard is drying, paint both sides of at least 10 wooden pegs with two coats of co-ordinating Resene colours. I’ve used Resene Half Limerick, Resene Spring Rain, Resene Feijoa, Resene Deep Sea, Resene Groovy, Resene Hopbush, Resene Ballerina, Resene Moody Blue, Resene Butterfly and Resene Centre Stage. When thoroughly dry, with a fine paintbrush, label the top strip with ‘Daily’, the middle strip with ‘Weekly’, the two left-hand squares with ‘To Do’ and the two right-hand squares with ‘Done’. Mark each peg with a different chore (both sides) and clip them to the side of the ‘Daily’ or ‘Weekly’ ‘To Do’ boxes. When the chores are complete, the pegs can be clipped onto the ‘Done’ boxes.

2. Wardrobe hanger

What you'll need:

  • Resene testpots
  • Wooden hanger
  • Pegs
  • Paintbrush
  • Sandpaper
  • Ruler
  • Balsa wood
  • Wood glue
  • Craft knife

Wardrobe hanger

Instructions:

Cut a 75mm wide sheet of Balsa wood to the length of a wooden hanger. Glue the wood to the hanger using wood glue. Paint with two coats of Resene Spring Rain. Paint 8 wooden pegs with Resene Hopbush, Resene Butterfly, Resene Centre Stage, Resene Moody Blue, Resene Deep Sea, Resene Groovy, Resene Half Limerick and Resene Laurel. Glue each peg at even intervals to the front of the hanger with wood glue. Clip on all your scarves, ties or hats and hang in your wardrobe.

3. Phone holders

What you'll need:

  • Resene testpots
  • Paper rolls
  • Washi masking tape
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Phone holders

Instructions:

Flatten a paper roll and draw a pencil line into the middle, half way down the roll. Draw an arc shape from 1cm below the end of the first line to the top of the roll and a second 1cm line vertically down from the first line another 1cm along. Cut all the lines with scissors and straighten out the roll again. Paint with two coats of either Resene Butterfly, Resene Ballerina or Resene Half Limerick. When dry, mask on stripes from bottom to top, leaving a gap between each piece. Paint two coats of Resene paint onto the exposed stripes. I’ve used Resene Moody Blue, Resene Hopbush and Resene Groovy. Peel off all the tape and prop up your phone hands free.
